Both of these companies have a great selection across the board for hardwood, luxury vinyl, laminate, tile, carpet, etc.

A few things to consider:

• Shower layout: Where do you want your showerhead, hand sprayer, seats, niches, etc.?
• We always recommend putting a solid surface on any flat, horizontal places where water may set to ease cleaning. Do you want any of the countertop quartz used in your shower as a corner seat, foot prop, niche base, wall cap, etc.?
• Would you prefer a recessed niche in your shower or a corner shelf made out of the countertop material? If using a niche, we recommend a quartz base to help with ease of cleaning and a complementary mosaic tile in the back of the niche to make it pop.
• If you have a half wall in your shower, we can get a wall cap made out of your quartz with a channel cut into it for the glass to set down inside (Quartz Wall Cap pic above).
• Engineered vs. Solid Hardwood vs. Luxury Vinyl plank (LVP): Both solid and engineered hardwood are genuine wood material. The difference is that the engineered wood flooring planks will have several layers of different types of wood glued together with the top layer being the wood species that you are walking on. This type of floor actually adds a lot more stability while also being more cost-effective than solid hardwood. We recommend engineered hardwood a lot with our Illinois climate ranging from such heat and humidity in the summer to cold dryness in the winter. When weather conditions fluctuate so widely, the different layers of engineered hardwood expand and contract at different rates, meaning an engineered floor has less gaping and buckling than solid hardwood, which is one solid piece and expands and contracts without the constraint of the different layers. If refinishing the floor in years to come is a concern, a solid hardwood floor can be sanded down and refinished several times, but how many times an engineered floor can be refinished is determined by the top layer of veneer. If you think you will need to refinish at some point, look at the side of the sample to see how thick the top veneer is. If you need it to be waterproof (bathrooms with showers, laundry rooms, etc.) we recommend LVP. The options of this material have come a long way in recent years! Look for styles that have a beveled edge so that it looks more like real hardwood. When the edges are flat, they tend to look a little more like sheet vinyl once laid.
• Inlaid registers will need to be ordered and installed with any hardwood . If you would rather order other registers, we recommend looking on madelyncarter.com.
• If you have pets or kiddos, you might want to take a peek at the JANKA scale of hardness before selecting your hardwood. This lists how hard each wood is and essentially how resistant it is to scratching. This is especially important if you want a more polished finish on your hardwood. If you are planning for a more rustic look, this is not quite as important, as rustic floors tend to hide those scratches and dings that come with a busy family. Some people even like the character that comes with age.
